Live Chaetomorpha Macroalgae — Refugium Chaeto
Live Chaetomorpha macroalgae, commonly called Chaeto, is one of the most useful refugium macroalgae for reef aquariums. It grows as a dense green mass that can help with nutrient export as it grows and provides habitat for copepods and other beneficial microfauna.
Best for:
Refugiums, sump chambers, algae reactors, pod habitat, nutrient export, and reefkeepers looking for a simple live macroalgae option.
Care guidance:
Place in a refugium, sump chamber, algae reactor, or protected macroalgae area.
Provide moderate to strong refugium lighting.
Provide enough water movement to prevent debris buildup.
Harvest excess growth regularly.
Do not allow large portions to die off unnoticed in the aquarium.
Arrival guidance:
Some settling, compression, or color variation can occur during shipping. Place the macroalgae in clean saltwater with light and water movement as soon as possible after arrival. Remove any obviously damaged or decaying tissue before placing it into the aquarium.
Important:
This is a live product. Availability may vary based on culture growth and harvest timing.
